ASSISTANT PROGRAM COORDINATOR - FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION

TARGET: DC area Graduate students who may be interested in a full-time Federal job that can lead to a long-term career.


Looking for a graduate student for a full-time job helping to manage a national Awards Program in the Federal Highway Administration’s Office of Human Resources in Washington, D.C.

Position Title: Assistant Program Coordinator.

Duties would include:

- Drafting letters soliciting for award nominations

- Tracking incoming award nominations and coordinating with nominators

- Reviewing and editing nominations and approving them in an automated system

- Helping to plan awards ceremonies where agency leaders recognize award winners

- Assisting with program management functions

- Performing related administrative duties & customer-service

The ideal candidate:

- Has strong writing or editing skills

- Is well-organized & detail-oriented

- Enjoys event-planning

- Enjoys interacting with customers that include senior officials

- Is studying or has studied English, Human Resource Management, or Public Administration (all majors will be considered)

- Is interested in the possibility of long-term employment upon graduation

- Is available to work full-time -- about 40 hours a week -- with flexible scheduling available

Salary & Benefits:

Depending on experience and education, we’d be hiring at the grade level 7 or 9. Therefore, the full-time salary would be roughly $ 41,000 to $ 50,000 annually, which equates to about $20 to $24 per hour. Paid time off will begin to accrue immediately. Health and life insurance are available, as well as training and development opportunities.
